Winx “Sophix” (*UPDATE: Solvix?*)
In episode nineteen, the Winx (minus Roxy) receive a new power supposedly called “Sophix,” which makes them strong enough to fight the fairies of Earth. The “Sophix” looks an Earth-fairy-style Believix: the clothes don’t glitter, and the wings have the same shape as but are simpler in design than the Believix wings. How do the Winx get this power? Three fairies come to Love & Pet to give it to them as gifts, in the form of glowing flowers. However, the Winx can still transform into Believix fairies, so now they have two transformations at once! (Personally, I think it was a poor plot move to add another one, especially so late into the season, but I’m not Rainbow.)
As I said, Roxy is not given this power, but during the episode, Bloom, Stella, and Tecna find another glowing flower in the middle of a cascade. Might they bring it back for her?
Here’s the transformation sequence, uploaded by balintlayla. (I chose this video because it had the highest quality I’ve seen so far. The good stuff starts at 0:23.) What do you think of it? How do you feel about the Winx’s having two transformations in one season?
*UPDATE* After listening to video more closely, I’m starting to think the transformation is actually called Solvix. It fits the naming scheme I mentioned in another post (Solvix from “solving,” like solving people’s problems); it still just a theory, but I believe it strongly.

I would hope they’d keep this in season 5, because it’s awsome, but I bet at the start of the fifth season they will only use the believix and then find a new transformation or something.
Wow, each season of winx club only have 1 transformation, but not Season 4!

It sounds Japanese to me. I thought I heard kimi dake wo mitsuke…, which means something like “find only you.”

Found it! It’s called “With You” by AAA.
It’s used as the ending of the new Inuyasha sequel. Video link (just plays the song)
But, Oblivious Prattler, the video link about the song “With you” by AAA, it does not Match to the first song on balintlayla’s video you posted above…
The part of the song she put in the video is almost at the end. It’s a bridge section. Go to 3:05. Oh, and I did give the wrong name. It’s “Find You.”

Yeah, I’m going back and forth on it, too, but the only problem I’m having with “Sofix” is that doesn’t mean anything. Mr. Straffi likes to play off English words, and there’s no word to connect to “Sofix.”

No, I don’t. I’m catching things here and there as I watch the show. What Kiku and I are saying is that we’ve seen a pattern of Rainbow’s using English gerunds in the names of the transformations. But you could certainly be right and this could be a case where they used an Italian word instead.
Oh the for love of…I was not trying to find whatever the hell solvix/sofix was based on. I trying to prove that the magical terms were based on words. Where the hell did you come from demanding me to go look up the dictionary, Marie? I’d like you to go and tell me what solvix/sofix is based on then since you’re so keen on this issue.
No one knows for certain. We’ll just have to wait until we hear from Rainbow/Iginio Straffi what it’s called. I bet they’ll be a doll line of it soon enough, especially with the way they’ve been cranking them out recently.

personally i hate solvix. it looks like a jungle themed outfit than a fairy outfit. believix is the best one yet and i hope they can change back and forth like in charmix

its like this, the fairies that gave the winx there power-up said that they will be back when they need another power-up, so there will be more transformations soon.

I find the outfits seriously disappointing. I got a distinct hippy feeling when I saw them.
guys i think that this is just like charmix, think about it:
- in the second season they could transform into winx and charmix, just like believeix and solvix (i heard solvix not sofix)
- they got their charmix late in the 2nd season
- both charmix and solvix are a kind of an addition to their current forms and powers
- they will probably use solvix only until the end of fourth season, just like they did with charmix
personally i think that solvix outfits are kinda cute, but i like beleivix much more
I agree. I think this is just a one-time thing. I can’t see it as a permanent transformation, anyway.

Oh, by the way, from what little Italian I understand, the flower was supposed to be Diana’s power source, I think. I could be wrong on this though. I will have to check again.

did you notice that Musa’s hair changes??? she has a little ponytail tied in the middle of her head …(sorry if it sounds silly, but i dont know how else to say it, english is my second language :-S )
and did you notice that everyone had flowers on their outfits, hair or/and shoes
you can clearly see that the outfits are nature inspired and like i said they are kinda cute but the shoes are so plain and simple, i don’t like them at all, they could of done a better job with them …
now that i listened carefully what they were saying i am sure that they said sophix, it’s stupid to me, what the hell does that mean, by their looks they could give it some nature name …

Believing in the existence of fairies in the series does show that people are changing their beliefs. Or it might because butterflies are just pretty.

I found a change’s on Bloom’s Solvix!: Stop on scene O:44, then pause on scene when Bloom’s solvix is done, doesn’t it look different?

I think it may be named after a plant species called Sophronitis with the whole plant-motif going on in this transformation.

i think they had to workfast on the solvix outfits so they could put out the outfits and they didn’t have many ideas so they just made up a random name???…

I for one love solvix (i heard soLvix) it’s cute. And to all who don’t it’s ok nobody will miss judge you. Right? Well I am a big fan of Winx and i heard that there will be another leval of power…..Lovix. I think it’s wierd having 3 outfits but i totaly think you are so right they still can change into Belivix but each state is a state of power like Charmix

I always thought Sophix came from the greek word σοφια, what means wisdom. After all, isn’t Sophix the gift of wisdom?
And the gift of heart comes of course from loving.
