Five Things I Hope We Don’t See in Season Five
Overused plot devises, unnecessary characters—all series have their faults. Sometimes, they’re a part of the show’s genre; other times, they’re the results of marketing experiments gone bad…or maybe gone too far. Of course, it depends on who you ask. Here are five things I don’t want to see in season five:

- An eighth Winx. Seven is enough. Six was fine, too, but what’s done is done. I’m getting used to Roxy already. I doubt Rainbow will add another fairy, anyway.

- More cuteness-for-hire characters. In season two, it was the pixie pets, and this season, it was, obviously, the Love & Pet animals. Yes, they’re sweet, they’re funny, and they’re adorable, but their impact on the plot was minimal. Notice the Winx didn’t even take them back to Magix with them! The pixies are another story. They almost fit the criteria, but at least they were given some importance other than simply being there and being easily-marketable to kids.
- More super transformations. Rainbow definitely went overboard this season with the Believix + upgrades. To re-cap, we had Believix, Speedix, Zoomix, Tracix, Sophiex, and Lovix. If they had each played an equally important role in the plot, it’d be fine, but Speedix and Tracix rarely got used, and Sophiex and Lovix were two-episode wonders. It would have been better to stick with Believix and give it some special abilities. Enchantix has the stronger wings, the miniaturization, and the fairy dust; each of those powers doesn’t have or need its own “-ix” name.
- Another anti-climactic climax. The Wizards’ defeat didn’t satisfy me—so much build up just to have the Winx and Nebula freeze them and let them fall to their deaths within four minutes of the last episode. Remember Bloom and Icy’s epic duel in season one? Or the “power of friendship” convergence victory against Darkar? This ending was no match for them. The problem was Rainbow had too many loose ends in the life on Earth side story. I think they should have tied those up before the final episode, maybe in place of the “Layla the traitor” mini-arc. (By the way, does anyone else feel like the Omega Dimension was seriously downgraded this season? In season three, it was an impenetrable, inescapable, sub-zero wasteland no sensible fairy would ever want to visit; this season, the Winx strutted through it like they were walking on the beach. And they didn’t even need the Lovix outfits again.)
- Musa and Riven have another fight. It’s so old, it’s almost a gag now. I’d love for them to survive one season with their relationship intact. But there’s always one, struggling couple, so why not put the spotlight on one of the “perfect pairs” and let their love conquer all?
But the number one thing I don’t want to see is…

Agreed. In magical girl series, there are always so many main characters! We definately don’t need another winx. I think something I’d like to see for Season Five is the winx wear more practical clothes. The Lovix transformation was completely not practical for cold weather, they should’ve just worn their season 1 snowsuits!
I can’t agree more with everything you said, but I would love to see moreof Tecna in Season 5 and finally see her home, now that would be intersting.
I agree 100% on that, Tecna NEEDS some much-deserved screentime…we know more about Roxy that we do about Tecna for crying out loud (which I think is just absurd). Seeing where she comes from would be really interesting, since she totally got jipped out of it in season 3. A bit more of Musa’s realm would be cool, too (there’s got to be more than just some orange floating bits of land connected by bridges and asian-style arches haha).
And I’m hoping that Musa and Riven STOP freaking fighting, too. Honestly, at first it made them the most “real” couple, but now it’s just old. But most of the couples have already had their fights – excluding Flora and Helia, but I just can’t see those two EVER fighting…except for enraging fans because Bloom/Sky, and previously Layla/Nabu were engaged (and maybe Stella/Brandon, but that wasn’t ever said to be actual or not) and NOT Flora and Helia. C’mon, the perfect couple hasn’t tied the knot yet? Rainbow, give us a proposal already (now that I’d like to see!)
I’d also like to see what really happens to Layla post-Nabu’s death…will she stay single, find a new guy (eh, please no), or will Rainbow come up with an awesome/plausible way to bring Nabu back? Lastly, I’m interested in what will become of Roxy. Will she officially join the Winx, just become another Alfea student…or something else entirely?
I know Tecna’s past pre-winx is non exstince. Personaly I think this season we should focus around the magical dimention, not sparks or earth or some where we have been before maybe make it so we see the hole magical dimention not just what people think are the important places and see and learn about the other fairies at Alfea that we have not know about before. To really not make it all about the Winx but everything in their world.
Yes, I really want to see Zenith and Melody. We saw a bit of Melody in Musa’s dream, but not a lot. And we NEVER saw Zenith. I actually wish that Amentia was the eighth Winx, but tough luck. Not gonna happen. Maybe 4Kids will add in some more interesting plots… wait. Also not gonna happen. I really wish I could ask Iginio Straffi to add Amentia in as kind of an “honorary Winx” who helps them and is in most episodes. That’s all I’m asking. Maybe closer to the end of the series, she can become a Winx. (I don’t want the end of the series to come!!! Not because of the Amentia thing though.)
Well, tough luck to Amentia fans. Which there aren’t a lot of, so…
I dont think that amentia is a fairy … so she could not be a fairy she is only the princess of downland …
I think she’s a fairy. But they never said if she is or not.
Wouldn’t it be so cool if Amentia, Chimera, and Diaspro had a fairy group. I mean they all are kind of evil. Chimera and Amentia hate Stella and Diaspro hates Bloom. It’s just a thought.
I don’t think Amentia’s evil. If she was, why’d she have that battle with Icy? If she’s evil, they’d be, like, best friends. She’s just stuck-up and very used to getting her way.
“•Musa and Riven have another fight. It’s so old, it’s almost a gag now. I’d love for them to survive one season with their relationship intact. But there’s always one, struggling couple, so why not put the spotlight on one of the “perfect pairs” and let their love conquer all?”
Me and one of my friends actually made a vow that if in season 5 if musa and riven fight again…..We’ll quite litterally stop watching it!
Also i agree with holly on the tecna case, she so unrated!
-pandawinx.
Yeah, Riven and Musa have had enough problems with their relationship. And I agree that they don’t need another transformation, I’d like them to just stick with their Enchantix this time.
I really don’t want to say this but , it needs to be said. I don’t think Roxy should be a Winx. Don’t get me wrong I like her she isn’t like the other girls (but her and Bloom a lot in common). Season 4 was good but if I had wrote it it would have gone diffrently. I am writing a fan fic that could have been a really good season 4, I don’t want to give it away but it would be better if the winx steped out of the spotlight for a while and a new group took over. Look at the facts the girls are getting older and a few of them are plainning on getting married, soon they will have their own families and it would just get old. But what was good about season 4 it was not all about Bloom.
I don’t want to see either of these things in Season 5 either, especially not Musa and Riven fighting again. I mean of course, it’s only natural for couples to have disagreements, but I don’t know how Musa and Riven can even stay together. It would really be interesting to see Flora and Helia fight, considering they both prefer to keep the peace.
I also especially agree with your opinion on the transformations. I like all of them, but enough is enough. I would like to see Sophiex and Lovix reused.
But the number one thing I REALLY don’t want to see is Bloom’s story being told over again. Let’s face it: Roxy’s story was almost identical to Bloom’s. As sweet of a story as it is, I’m sick of it. Come on! Where’s the originality?
Also, I don’t want to see an eighth winx girl either. If they gave Roxy a boyfriend, I wouldn’t mind that, but definitely NOT an eighth winx! And speaking of boyfriend, I sure hope we see Nabu in Season 5. If not, then I hope Roxy doesn’t get a boyfriend because Layla might left out as the only Winx girl without a boyfriend.
Wow. That was super-long.
I mean Layla might feel left out. Forgot the word feel.
I’ve always felt really bad for Aisha. (I don’t call her Layla. Okay, well, I do, but only for quick reference. I prefer Aisha.)
This might sound really, really stupid, but I’ve always had this idea in my head that the Winx should talk to each other equally to make it seem like they’re more of a club. As in, like, Bloom should talk to Stella, but she should also talk to the others. With Aisha, she always gets talked to more by Flora than any other girl, or so I’ve noticed.
AH-HA! I figured out how to say it, yay! Okay, each character should be given an equal amount of lines.
Musa talks to Aisha the most in my opinion. Remember how close ther were in season 2? I haven’t recently watched the episodes( all the good rai eng versions on youtube were taken down) but I think that the reason certain people talk to a person more than the others is because they’re that person’s best friend….or something : ) Like in season 4, Roxy barely spoke to anyone but Bloom, and she became her best friend when Bloom told Roxy she knew what she was going through.
I do always find it interesting though when Winx who don’t regularly talk to one another, Tecna, Stella,Aisha, interact and laugh with each other because they know they’re all still friends.
100% agreed!

Can we add music montages using songs from the Winx Club in Concert album? Seriously, I hated those.
i totally agree with musa n riven not having a fight again. although wen thy have figths is usually beacuse they cant express theyre feelings right or because riven is insecure or jealous (remmeber jason queen? how about nabu is season 3?)
Musa can be insecure too or sometimes, just plain stubborn. For example, in one particular episode (can’t remember which one), Riven was trying to some nice things for Musa (like giving her flowers) and she was just rude about it. And in Episode 19 of Season 3, she had an attitude when Riven tried to be nice and give her a gift. They’re both stubborn.
yeah she can be. but in the season 3 one they were growing apart so she was taken offguard and didnt know wat else to do, plus u have to link it to a previous episode were they were learning how to drive the bikes riven wouldnt believe her dat the bike had problems and just yelled at her
i could deal with anything they do with the show (they have put in so much **** that i am used to some lousy things) but i seriously could not stand another fight between Musa & Riven, i would stop watching Winx club for good…. I mean come on give them some break there hasn’t been a single season without them fighting season 1- the darcy situation, season 2- nothing happened until the end, season 3- the bike thing and others, season 4- jason
Enough is enough, for only one season i would like to see them as a normal couple, they don’t have to be all cute around eachother but just not fight …
IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK
PS sorry for bothering you with such a long comment but they are my favourite couple
))))))))))
I don’t know why, but that picture of Musa and Riven reminds me of a scene I saw in a Japanese cartoon.
Yeah you are absolutely right on everything! I thought enchantix would be the last transformation. That’s what they said in season 3. And seven winx girls is too much. Roxy looks like techna with longer hair with bloom’s attitude and life story.
“Enchantix has the stronger wings, the miniaturization, and the fairy dust; each of those powers doesn’t have or need its own “-ix” name.”
Fairydustix, Strongerwingix and miniturizationix!!!!! Yeah!!! Or:
Dustix, Strengthenix, and Miniwinx… wait. Miniwinx kinda had a transformation, sort of.
I agree with everything, especially the super transformations. They called the ice belivix, and called it lovix. Why not freezix, or frostix, that lovix one could have been a new season transformation.( at least the final gift didnt make them re transform, it would be kinda dark, and evil. What happened to the last gift anyway?)
as to the last gift layla tried to use it on nabu but ogron took it and used it on a flower instead.
Finally having weighed in on the end of season 4, we understand all 5 of your points O.P..
Winx is a cute show, but it went cute overboard. The Black Circle Wizards so previously built up skulked in the sewer for a good part of episodes 14-26. And yes, no more members please. There is plenty to explore about the existing cast.
We would add that we did not appreciate being hit over the head with the hard environmental message. We like the environment, but someone over there forgot the subtleties of which the series used to have more.
What about the juvenile relationship antics? The Winx girls were a little on the flirtatious side. Where’s the loyalty?
Don’t forget the rudeness as well. The girls were unnecessarily rude to their boyfriends and for no reason at that. Yet, apparently, we (the viewers) were supposed to side with the girls. At one point, I was honestly hoping the guys would dump them.
It is nice to know we were not the only ones!
i agree! they were totaly awful 2 there boyfriends! first they flisrt with other guys, and then they wonder y there guys didnt trust them!
musa and riven i love them and there probably my fave couple but plz! enough fighting already! id rather see them getting closer in season 5.
another thing, i dont really see roxy as a winx. she just doesnt stand out enough to me. they made her to much like bloom. sure i like that she has the power over animals but thats about it. if there going to hav a 7th (and last) winx i think she should stand out like the rest of the girls do!
last, i also dont want to see any cute little animals, or pixies, or bonds or whatever unless they help the winx and can fight too.
wow that was alot!
@stellaix The only reason some people still have trouble seeing her as a winx is because of how poorly of a job they did in season 4 on the bases of her fitting in with the others, She is defiently and offically the seventh winx, I want her to be a winx! Even the ones who belive she’s a winx still have somewhat of trouble seeing her with the others. I think the resdon they made her likee Bloom is to make people watched winx from the begginning nostagic.
Oh and I forgot to add that I hope they will do a better job of making her fit in better in season 5.
1)riven and musa hav got 2 stop fighting. it is officialy geting on my nerves.
2) roxy has to fit in more. i mean i thnk the only thing i dont like is that she doesnt click with most of the other girls besides bloom and maybe flora and i hope she gets closer 2 the other girls.
3) plz no more pets unless they can actually do something to help the winx. like the pixies.
genial
I think everything is fine and sometimes i wish i was part of winx, besides it is good to expand horizons, that’s what clubs do. people do have rocky relationships and it shouldn’t go on year after year, but this time, Riven really confessed and he will change his attitude. the ending of the season, I think the same thing, and the extra forms, eh, what the heck, everything will be in tact. what ever happens, same Musa, same Riven, villans are here and there, but they will always be the same winx.
Roxy was not officially part of the winx Layla had one, where’s roxy’s ?
Yeah, I don’t think anyone wants an eighth Winx; kinda hard to keep up with all of them, in my opinion. Fairies like Flora, Musa, Tecna and Layla are hardly given any attention.
I didn’t mind the pets, because I think it was a necessity (what would Love&Pet be without pets), and I didn’t mind the transformations as well, though I think they took up time.
I agree with the final Season 4 ‘battle’ (it really wasn’t a battle at all). It was too simple.
And yeah, Musa and Riven should really stop fighting.
I just noticed something. Those wings are NOT attached to Bloom’s back.
Was it just me or was believix earned to fast? I mean whats the point if there is 2, 2 episode transformations and a barely used wing power-up? I’m fine with the pets though, I get that the winx need comfort. In my opinion the best thing they can do is not have Roxy. I mean come on Season 3 was the best! Roxy shows up and its so different. It’s fine if she’s there but leave her at Alfea. It will prove the most annoying thing I’ve seen in the series, if Roxy’s first transformation is Magic Winx or Believix. Let’s hope for the best!
I would hate to see another winx. Aisha, fine.Roxy, okay that’s enough! And why “lovix”? It does not match the name! Like the thing is for christmas! Love-ix,repeating…LOVE-ix,LOVE!!-ix. Okay get it,Love is in the word,so what holiday matches love?you got 10 seconds……….VALINTINES day.
