Rating the Season Endings
Here’s my ranking from best to worst. I hope you don’t take this as my saying there’s been a quality drop in the series…but maybe you think there has been. Feel free to comment!
1. Season One: The Battle for Magix
It had the most action by far. Alfea, Cloud Tower and Redfountain teaming up to beat The Trix and an army of darkness monsters? Bloom and Icy’s duel in a classic clash of opposites? What more could you want? And the stakes were certainly high. The Trix controlled the power that created the Magical Dimension!
The best part of this ending: Bloom wasn’t the only hero. The other (then) four Winx defeated Darcy and Stormy without her, and the students from all three schools proved their power against the monsters. It was a group victory.
2. Season Two: The Winx vs. The Shadow Phoenix
Season two is not my favorite, but the ending was okay. It was better in the original when the Winx had to beat not only Darkar but the Trix’s converged creature. The biggest problem was the last episode focused too much on freeing Bloom from Darkar’s spell. Once she did that herself, using her healing powers (not mentioned in the special), the Winx had already won. Then came the obligatory party at Alfea. Meh.
3. Season Three: Winx vs. Demon Valtor
After watching Nickelodeon’s dub of this episode, I was…confused. I didn’t remember it being so choppy and random. And once again, Bloom was the hero. (Yes, I know the first three seasons were about her, but it’s nice when the others get to shine.) She somehow projected her Dragon Flame into Valtor and fought him from the inside. Or so we’re to believe. It didn’t look like a fight—more like talking him to death. Oh, of course, there was another party at Alfea.
4. Season Four: The Winx vs. The Wizards of the—What? It’s Over Already?
I liked season four, but the ending was so anti-climactic. Why put us through twenty-five episodes of drama to have the Wizards be defeated in three minutes? Then we had sit through more cuteness overload with the fairy pets, another Musa and Riven make up (until next time) scene, and another Frutti Music Bar concert…that replaced the obligatory party at Alfea.
Well, there’s my list. Your thoughts?

I think that season 4 was both the worst, and the best. Up until the final episode, the wizards were a threat. They were always a threat. The other baddies didn’t outright lie to the main cast to their face… But I’m biased because I thought 4 was the best..
Next I would have to go to season 2. Not sure why, probably because it was “big battle”.. 3 has to be my least favorite. Two, then One Winged Angel, and then finally Clipped Winged Angel… Sorry, Valtor used too many tv tropes in that one.
I mostly agree with your assessment, but I felt that the “talking Valtor to death” was a fitting way to do the final battle. Valtor always seemed to me to be using his words to get what he wanted, so having Bloom use that against him seemed right.
I do agree that the whole “project Dragon Flame inside Valtor” was… odd. O_o And I agree with what you said about the other seasons.
Not trying to call your opinions wrong, but I can’t blame them for having a party after each victory. After you’ve been through—excuse me—-hell and back and have basically stared death in the face (and I’m sure in the Winx’s mind, they have), you deserve to celebrate!
The third ending was my least favorite. I agree. It looked more like Bloom just talking him to death. I like to think of it as Bloom trying to fight against mental torment, but it doesn’t really help.
I love when everyone is the hero and helping out instead of just sitting around and relying on one person. Having the others need to rely on Bloom makes it seem like they’re next to useless and can’t hold out on their own.
Season 3 is one of my favorite seasons, but if there’s one thing I really hated, it was Bloom’s change in personality and power. Between her getting ridiculously powerful and crying over her birth parents every five minutes, her character was almost unbearable.
Season 3 was the worst.
season 1 the best
Season 4 could’ve been amazing if the final battle was in the episode that layla lost, nabu. *trying to dont spoil anything xD*
Wait, so S4 in the nick dub will be out soon?
OH nick!!! please stop butchering the WINX!!! put them out of their misery!!!!! horrible horrible one word!! blahh!!! I liked the old winx better!!!
Can u tell me what did they butchered in the Winx?
Cause I cant find one
You, my friend, said what I have wanted to say for a long time.
I have discussed about this subject with my friend, and we both agree that the first season was the best. Bloom didn’t even seem like Mary Sue back then. Oh, the old times.
The following season 2 and 3 seemed more like fillers before the movie. Though, I personally liked the third. (except the final battle, which you described well. “Talking him to death”, haha.)
Anyways, this was very interesting one to read. I hope to hear of you soon again.
Why? Why do so many people dislike season 4? I mean, the winx are growing up so theres going to be more drama. Plus, don’t forget they were here, on earth in season 4, and we all know what are planet can be like sometimes…. All I’m saying is that winx fans should be more open to change: Face it; the winx are not going to be the same.
I’m surprised about everyone’s thoughts on the season four finale. I thought it was very good. Concerning the winx defeating the wizards at the start of the episode, my contention is that it isn’t necessary in a story to defeat the primary antagonist at the last minute. Take the lord of the rings books. Sauron was destroyed about halfway into the book. I do agree that the season one finale was the best. Bloom had finally gained the proper amount of confidence necessary to feel at home in the magical dimension. The one thing that has always bothered me since the second season was the inconsistency of Bloom’s strength. In the first finale, she was all but invincible. In the following seasons, she’d been defeated easily several times. I thought the season two finale was good, but not very memorable (although I was a big fan of the dark bloom arc, wish we could see more of that). And yes, the season 3 finale could have been better, but to tell you the truth, I can never get enough of that fairy dust sequence that Bloom uses. Allot of people think it’s corny, but I think its very fairy-like.
i liked season 4 except the fact that the wizards were defeated in 3 minutes. i likes season 1 the most. bloom wasn’t a Mary sue then.
Yeah, I agree with you, especially about Season 2 and the anti-climatic battle with the Wizards.
It was kinda good that Roxy was like the protagonist in Season 4 as Bloom has been the main character in the first three seasons.
But I like Season 4 the best as I think it has a good storyline and action (except for the final battle).
They were all with good points and bad points. I liked the cliffhanger in Season 4 better than the ending, Season 3 was best at the start, Season 2 was good except for certain points, and Season 1 was good except for a few points.
