Nick Debuts “The Secret of the Lost Kingdom” — Sunday, Feb. 26 at 12 EST *UPDATE*

How’s this for a treat? Finally, we get to see the first Winx Club movie in America! I hope a DVD release isn’t far away!
Nickelodeon has posted a trailer on the show’s page. If someone uploads it to YouTube, I’ll embed it here, but for now check it out there.
I have to say I’m super excited! I hated the Cinelume dub of the movie (if it even was Cinelume), so maybe this voice cast can do it justice. And this time, the terms and names should match the original. I was shocked that Cinelume used “Sparks” instead of Domino. A strange attempt to merge with the 4Kids dub, maybe?
Anyway, this is great news for Winx!
*UPDATE* Here’s the trailer, uploaded by BelieveInWinxTV.

I would upload the trailer I recorded on my DVR, but I could only do it with a video camera. BelieveInWinx should have it up soon.
Big week for Winx news, eh?
Anywho, I’m terribly excited for this! The Cinelume dub annoyed me as well, and I love Nick’s voices, so hopefully this’ll be a good dub of a good movie. They better put back in all the scenes that Cinelume for some reason cut. (Such as the boys’ bad hair day, Hagen’s talk with Riven)
I don’t think it was Cinélume.
*GASP* YAYYAYAYYAY!!!!
I wonder when they’ll air it here in Canada then. Nick Canada just re-started season 3 last Tuesday. I hope it’s on a weekend here too because unlike in the US Nick Canada only has an East coast airing.
What was so bad about the Cinelume dub?
Some scenes did get axed, but it’s not like they played a big role in the plot and the voices weren’t that great, but they certainly could have been alot worse. As for the CGI, it was sub-par compared to some of the movies released during that time period, but wasn’t totally unbearable.
I liked it more then the 2nd movie because it had more action and less drama. It also had some pretty good lines for the ancestral witches and the boys.
e.g. “Relax, this is one of the things we specialists specialize in right?” – Brandon whille hanging for his dear life
Bloom and Aisha’s voices were the ones that bothered me the most, mainly because they sounded nothing like they did in the series. Overall, the movie itself was fine. Yes, the CGI wasn’t Pixar quality. I do some 3D modeling for fun, so I noticed a lot of awkward things. (Not that I could do better.
) At least, it wasn’t as bad as in the season five trailer!
I’m actually one of the few people who liked Layla’s voice.
But yeah Bloom’s voice was just… bleh.
My fav line is the one right behind it, xD
Helia: “In that case can i change my specialty?”
Personally I prefered Stella’s line of ‘Yoo hoo anyone here? This place is more deserted than a mall on Monday”
First of all I’d like to thank OP for updating so much I really appreciate your site and it’s always good to see all the fresh news here
Am I the only one who gets a tiny smirk of irony on her face when they call it something as “Brand New” when it technically came out in 2007…..
Yeah , Yeah, I know It’s new in this dub, but still…. kind of a lie. If I weren’t a Winx fan…. AAH never mind that whaT am I whining about?
As for the the Cinelume version. I thought Bloom’s voice was terrible too, but other than that – It was English. Well personally I went to see the Finnish version in Finland so not like I’m DYING to see this as I’ve had the DVD for a while, but it was nice ti get notified.
Wow! I’m flattered. Thank you! I thought I wasn’t updating enough.
But, yes, it is funny how they’re trying to make everything seem “new.” In a way, it is, but…just a new voice cast isn’t enough. I can’t wait until season five so we can see some truly new content!
Well You’ve had your quiet times I guess, but as I do my own site too – I have more and I know how hard it is. Plus in my opinion you’re one of the “Old School” famous Winx fans so I like your news….
To be fair, it is new to the US and Canada since we never got either movie. I have the Cinelume dub because a friend of mine bough the German DVD for me.
i heard a rumor that for the Cinelume dub of the movie, Rai English provided actresses for the Winx and 4kids did the pixies and Daphne. I don’t know how much control 4kids got over the script, but maybe since they melded the companies together to create it, that’s why they used Sparx instead of Domino. Again, it was just a rumor.
Neither Cinelume or 4Kids had nothing to do with the original English dub of the movie. As far as I know, only the German DVD had the option for English audio. I think if 4Kids had put any money into this movie, they would have released it and probably would not have stopped after Season 3. 4Kids still had a license for the series up until 2010. They could have dubbed the first movie and the fourth season, but just let their license collect dust and just showed reruns of Seasons 1 through 3. It did not surprise me in the least when they filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.
As far as the voice actor rumor, that rumor is just that, a rumor. No one who voiced a character in the Cinelume or 4Kids dub voice a character in the movie. If you have seen the movie at all, this becomes very clear. This rumor most likely started from people who had never seen the movie.
The reason why they used Sparx instead of Domino was probably because the 4Kids dub was the predominate English dub that was aired. It made sense to just use names that most people knew about.
thank you for correcting me.
It would be a rumour. The reason that 4Kids lost their license and had to go file for bankruptcy is because they violated contracts with the companies they’d signed with including RAI and had to pay for those violations. This is also why they lost their license for Winx Club back in 2010.
I wouldn’t feel too bad for 4Kids anyway. Especially given how they treat their employees and contracts they’ve signed
Yeah, they almost lost Yu-Gi-Oh! because of that.
4Kids is infamous for doing unauthorized and unecessary edits.
They also treat their employees like crap. My husband had an instructor who used to work for 4Kids. He said they were rude, pompous and overbearing.
I can also say that this is why you shouldn’t aspire to work for EA Games either. An entire team got fired once because they refused to push up a release date because there were still too many bugs in the game. EA is more concerned with quantity than quality.
Yeah, anime fans love 4Kids.[/sarcasm]
But if they’re jerks, too, maybe Iginio Straffi couldn’t stand working with them anymore.
It could be part of it. Who wants to work with a bunch of jerks? I sure don’t like doing it. Actually (you might already know this OP) you don’t get far in gaming or animation if you’re a jerk to people.
They only only allowed to keep Yu-Gi-Oh! because judge ruled that TV Tokyo, NAS and ADK did not terminating the license properly. If you are interest in reading the case, the links are below:

I’ve read about it already. I read Anime News Network everyday.
I know that you know about the lawsuit. I posted it for anyone else who did not know. After I hit the “Post Comment” button, it dawned on me that I should have wrote, “If anyone is interested in reading the case, the links are below.” To bad there is no edit feature here.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound snippy if I did. I can enable comment editing, so I’ll consider it.
No, I take that back. I can edit comments, but it doesn’t look I can enable it for you guys.
It is perfect the way you rote it.it makes alot of sence and this is so akward and i saw the movies 1 and 2 and i heard they will make a 3rd movie for season 6
i’ve noticed a couple comments, I wanted to clairfy something. Cinelume didn’t dub the moive, the first english dub of the movies were done by a company called Dubbing Brothers that went through different (uncredited) recording studio, hence the entire cast change.
Oh thanks. I have the German DVD and I didn’t know that.
