The Winx as Disney Princesses
Now this was a great idea. This masterpiece was created by KaoriMirai of the deviantArt community:
I’m sure you can name who each fairy is cosplaying, but in case not:
Bloom as Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
Stella as Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Flora as Belle (Beauty and the Beast)
Musa as Mulan (Mulan)
Aisha as Tiana (The Princess and the Frog)
Tecna as Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
Roxy as Giselle (Enchanted)
I myself needed some help on the last one. At first I thought Roxy was Meg from Hercules, but she’s not a Disney princess. (Technically, neither is Mulan.)
My favorite “transformation?” I think Flora’s. She always looks so graceful no matter who draws her, and Belle is one of my favorite Disney princesses. And the rose was a perfect reference to both Beauty and the Beast and Flora’s magic.
KaoriMirai has more Winx art in her gallery. You can also click on the links above to see each fairy’s individual Disney princess pic.

Actually, Mulan is considered the eighth Disney Princess. There is a total of ten Official Disney Princesses. In order, they are: 1.) Snow White (1937), 2.) Cinderella (1950), 3.) Aurora (1959), 4.) Ariel (1989), 5.) Belle (1991), 6.) Jasmine (1992), 7.) Pocahontas (1995), 8.) Mulan (1998), 9.) Tiana (2009), and 10.) Rapunzel (2011).
Giselle is an unofficial Disney Princess. However, she was going to be until Disney abandoned that plan when they realized that they would have to pay the actress, Amy Adams, life-long royalties for using her likeness.
Mulan may be considered a princess, but she’s not one in her story. And she’s rarely included in Disney princess merchandise. She’s probably just there to be the token Asian character, sadly.
True, Mulan is not one in her story, but, according to Disney, Mulan does fits the “Princess Mythology”.
This is off the DIsney Princess page on the Disney Wiki.
“Out of the ten Disney Princesses, only five of them are royal by birth; Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine and Rapunzel. Cinderella, Belle, and Tiana become princesses by marrying a prince, and Pocahontas is the daughter of a Native-Indian chief, which isn’t quite royalty because she does not inherit any position or political status. Mulan also isn’t actually a princess(she is the daughter of a war hero) but she does however recieve a grace of honor from the Emperor of China who is royalty making her the only woman to ever do so. Pocahontas and Mulan are included in the princess line up because of their high status and significant acts of heronism in their films.”
OMG its ingenious! You know, I actually used to use the disney princess dolls as winx club dolls (before I had winx dolls) to play with. With me observing this, I noticed something: Jasmine and Cinderella weren’t used. (I actually thought Jasmine might be used for Aisha)
Bloom is my favorite! She looks amazing as Ariel.
I don’t really consider Mulan a Disney princess either, but they do make dolls of her (my 7 year old has one) However the mythology behind the story of Hu/Fa Mulan is very interesting so I doubt she’s just token Asian.
I don’t think of her as just the Asian one, but I know how some marketers think.
Come to think of it, I had a Pocahontas doll when I was little, and I think they were trying to market her as a Disney princess. Which is funny because unlike Mulan, she is technically a princess.
This is soooooo cool two things i like coliding!
I’m surprised but happy Giselle was included… she’s my second favorite Disney princess (out of both the official lineup and the unofficial) after Princess Kilala… do I just like the obscure ones? I sort of feel like a princess hipster.
Anyway, this is really cool! Thanks for sharing it!
I think they all fit well together with each of their different backgrounds and stories although I somehow think Aisha could have fitter Princess Kida from Atlantis too maybe. And does anyone know where to watch the Nick versions of Winx? I can only find clips on their channel.
I like Roxy and Flora’s transformation but I think Tecna’s looks a bit weird. (no offense) This is cute.
