キャラクター(Kyarakutaa): Characters

Except Roxy, all of the Winx girls’ names came from the Japanese Winx Club Wikipedia article.

1Roxy’s not officially a Winx, of course, but for practical purposes (and out of wishful thinking =P), I’m listing her here.

THE PIXIES

2 There’s no “tu” sound in Japanese, so it’s often replaced with “chu” (チュ).
3 There’s no “zi” sound in Japanese, so it’s often replaced by “shi” (シ) or “ji” (ジ).
4 & 5 There is no “v” sound in Japanese, so it’s often replaced with a “b” sound. On the second attempt at Livy’s name, I used bui (ブイ), the word used for the “sound” of the peace sign (V for victory).

More coming soon…

  1. I just realized something. If there’s no “L” in the Japanese language, shouldn’t Buluumu be “Buruumu”?

  2. I think Hanabi would be a good name for Bloom in the japanese dub, because Hanabi means Flower Fire.
